Stunning Battle: Emma Stone vs. Blake Lively

Hi everyone!!! Please take a moment to look at these gorgeous actresses, and their spectacular cocktail of red carpet apparels.  To be honest with you, for me, Blake Lively is one of the best dressed.  But Emma Stone has surprised me in a huge way!!  Both are daring in their own way! Blake Lively is glamorous; while Emma Stone is more the classic girl.  You can spot Blake in almost every style, and every color.  In the other hand, Emma stays pretty classy, even with colors and shapes.  Even though, I have to confess that both of them left me wanting to see more of their stunning clothes!  Which one is your fave??  I think it's not going to be easy this time!!  I hope you get some inspiration from these beauties! Remember that inspiration lies in colors, shapes, lengths, makeup, hair!  Make it yours!  Smile :)

OOTD - Nautical Chic!

Hi everyone!!!  I've always loved the perfect combination of navy blue, and red!  Better known as the nautical or sailors colors.  Even MAC launched a summer collection named Hey, Sailor!  The truth is that you can NEVER go wrong when playing with these colors!  It doesn't matter if they're on a handbag, your accessories, your shoes, your bathing suit, or your entire outfit as mine.  I was wearing a navy blue and white romper (similar - vintage similar) from a local boutique, and my GUESS red cardigan (featured heresimilar - similar), which I bought about 6 months ago.  I was also wearing my braided sandals from Charlotte Ruse (featured here), a nude bandeau top, some light makeup, my curly hair, and a few jewelry accessories.  I hope you like this look.  Feel summer-inspired and try it!  Smile :)

- Arm candy (from top to bottom): rhinestone bracelet from Wal-Mart (featured here), TOUS pearls bracelet, neon yellow lucky eye bracelet (made by me, available on Etsy), and GUESS watch (old).

Catching Up! + Pink Me OOTD

Hi everyone!!!  This past weekend was pretty good, I spent it with my mom!  We went to lunch in a very good, old, and famous restaurant in San Juan (capital of Puerto Rico), named 'El Zipperle'.  We had a plate named "Paella", which is an Spanish plate consisting in yellow rice with vegetables, and a mix of almost every type of meat or sea food.  We choose ours to be of sea food, we got lobster, shrimp, calamari, oysters, and a type of prawns.  It was delicious!!  We also got two cups of "Sangria", which is a drink made with different fruits, and wine.  For dessert I chose a guava cheesecake (sooooo good!), and my mom got a vainilla cake with 'dulce de leche', and shredded coconut.  Then we went shopping together, and I had so much fun!  You could also see this post as an OOTD one.  I was wearing my new floral dress from Marshalls (featured here), and my new fuchsia platforms from Charlotte Ruse (featured here).  There are not too many pictures but I hope you like them! Smile :)

stila one step bronze Review

Hi everyone!!! As you may have seen in my recent post about June's Birchbox Review, stila one step bronze was included within the items for this month.  stila cosmetics describes this product as:

'one step bronzer that illuminates, bronzes, primes and nourishes the skin.  One Step Bronze immediately improves the skintone, evens out your complexion and helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles!  Stila's new One Step Bronze is oil-free and melts right into the skin and dries down, creating a gorgeous glow.

This primer, illuminating, bronzing, color-correcting skincare serum contains Stila's Youth Revival Bio-Available Mineral Complex that instantly:
  - Reduces imperfections
  - Improves skin texture
  - Diminishes the look of fine lines & wrinkles
  - Minimize pores
  - Hydrates, balances and nourishes the skin
  - Controls oil production'

Personally, I don't get the point of making a bronzer a primer.  It kinds of confuses me, because a primer goes under your makeup to prepare your skin for it, but a bronzer goes over your makeup to bring color to your skin or to contour your face (or at least, that's the traditional way!).  Even though, I was pretty excited to receive this product because I've never tried a liquid or mousse bronzer, and as I have a big face frame and a light skin color, bronzers are always welcome!  When I first apply the bronzer in my hand, I could feel how soft and smooth it is.  Also, the pump makes it easier to apply and helps you control the amount you use.  When applying it to my face I've used three tools:
-my fingers
-my foundation brush, and
-my beauty blender.
Because of its mousse complexion, you're not going to have any problems in the application.  In the Birchbox product snapshot, they used a beauty blender to apply the product.  Personally, that was the less I like because the sponge absorbs a significant amount of the product, which will make you to go over the product again and use more product.

-I first apply this product as a contouring bronzer (picture 1).  Honestly, I don't think this is a bronzer for contouring your face at all.  It's not as highly pigmented to create a successful contouring effect when you apply it.  Even though, this is the way that my skin looked less oily, but shinny.  I am pretty sure it's because the areas that you use to pay attention when contouring your face, do not get too oily.
-Then I apply the product all over my face (picture 2) (with no previous makeup on it).  My face absorbed more color than when I previously applied it as a contouring bronzer.  My pores appearance turns smaller.  But, I didn't notice a difference in the oil control.  My skin is oily, and this product didn't control the shine on my face.  When applying it to bare skin, you can see the skin glowing.  It didn't improve my skin texture that much, but I did notice a reduction on my skin imperfections.  Only thing is, it felt a little sticky, and shinny until I get into the next step...
-Then, I applied my MAC Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation in C4 over stila's one step bronze (picture 3).  The bronzing effect didn't fade completely, and I still could see my skin glowing.  My pores looked completely reduced.  Almost as if I was wearing benefit's POREfessional!  In my experience, this is how this product works better!  It really serves as a primer for powder, even to set the powder and minimize the appearance of pores.  Also, with the application of the powder, my face look less oily.

-Pictures haven't been edited.

Overall:  When I first grab this product in my hands, I expect it to be a bronzer, more than a primer.  In my experience, it works more as a bronzing-primer or a pigmented-primer, than as a bronzer itself.  It application goes light, soft, and smooth.  It doesn't work to contour your face, but it sure works pretty good as a primer.  I will keep using this product because its complexion is lovely, and really easy to manage.  It leaves my skin lightly bronzed, concealed, and glowing.  Another important detail of this product its that it serves to set your powder.  When I apply my MAC powder over it, I could notice how concealed and clean my skin looks, in contrast of applying powder without this product as a primer.  If you don't have much to cover, you can use this product alone to get a bronzed finish in your skin.  The features I didn't like about this product is that it felt sticky until it dried completely, or until I applied my powder on it, and that it doesn't control my oily skin at all (you should be open to expect that the product could work different with every skin type).  In addition, 1 fluid ounce of this product retails for $36.00.  For me, thats quite expensive, I will NOT buy it at such a high price.  Because of this, I gave myself the task of searching on eBay for this product.  Actually, there're some auctions starting at really low prices, so if you want to try this product I recommend you to look for it on eBay (or the site of your preference), because you'll have the opportunity to find it at a lower price (for example).

NYX Concealer in a Jar Review

Hi everyone!!! It is important that you understand what I tried to do with this post, for you to get the message right!  As you see at my Makeup Routine Review post, I've used this product before in CJ11 lavender.  The new shade I got, its CJ02 fair.  As I've noticed, from the package first, and then for the complexion of the product, NYX Concealer in a Jar has been re-designed.  The package has more details in the jar (even in the cap).  I also could notice that the package was smaller; this new version has 6g, and the 'old one' has 7g.  For this review, I will NOT be comparing the shades of the concealer, but the quality improvement of the product itself.  I hope it helps!  Smile :)

- The jar on the right corresponds to NYX Concealer in a Jar in C02 fair.  As you can see, they included the line 'Above & Beyong FULL Coverage Concealer' on the cap of the jar.  And, it's not that noticeable, but it looks a little bit smaller too.

- This is how each of them looks.  Lavender concealer is really sticky, and hard.  When I first applied it, it gave me a lot of work to blend it correctly (and still's), because of its harshness.  Fair concealer is a lot more creamy.  Being creamier makes it easier to blend, because the consistency is more manageable. Some extra points to NYX for making it creamier!

- First picture are the concealers applied to my hand without being blended.  Second picture are the concealers blended with the tip of my fingers.  As you can see, CJ02 fair blends a lot more than CJ11 lavender.  It is easier to spread the amount of concealer applied to my skin, in contrast, lavender tends to stick in the area you've applied it and it's harder to blend.

-  In this picture of me with no makeup (only NYX concealers), you can compare how both of them looks after application.  As you see, the CJ11 looks harsh on skin, and the CJ02 looks really soft, blended, and natural!  You can even use it to highlight some areas, or to hide any blemishes on your skin if you're not in the mood for foundation.

- A close up for you to see the improvement on the quality of the product.  Look at the veins in my eyelids, and then, look the good coverage that both of them provides.  But, look how better CJ02 fair complexion is.  It looks smoother, and better blended.

Overall:  I've loved this product since I started using the CJ11 lavender shade.  To be honest, I bought that shade because that was the only one available at the time I made my purchase, and I wanted to try it.  That's why I decided to get CJ02 fair last time I went to the store.  I used to love the lavender complexion, even of how hard it is to blend and how bad it looks after application, because I tended to apply other concealers on top of it.  Now, with the new complexion, I am not going to have that problem anymore.  I can wear CJ02 fair, and that's it!!  Both packages said that this concealers are crease-free.  CJ11 lavender complexion creases less than CJ02 fair, because of its hardness.  But, CJ02 fair does not creases a lot.   In my opinion that's a hard goal to reach because, more or less, there are expression lines on my eye area.  With this product you get good quality, for a great price ($5-$6).  In my experience, it has been a great product!

Disclaimer: I am not associated with NYX cosmetics in ANY way.  I got these products with my own money, and this post is my conscious opinion.
